Installer fitting new vinyl siding panels on a home exterior in Eden Prairie, MN

Weatherproof Vinyl Siding Replacement in Eden Prairie, MN

Vinyl remains the most-fitted cladding on homes across Eden Prairie because nothing else asks so little of the owner afterwards. It never needs painting, it washes down with a hose, and the current insulated panels are a long way from the thin siding people remember from the nineties.

What goes on behind the panel decides everything

Siding is a rain screen, not a seal. Water gets behind it on every wall, every storm, and the job of the assembly is to drain that water back out. So we replace the house wrap rather than siding over tired paper, tape the seams, and flash the windows and doors in the right order so water sheds outward at every horizontal. Panels are hung, never nailed tight, because vinyl expands measurably across a hot day and pinned siding buckles. Where a home wants a deeper grain and shadow line, LP siding replacement is the next step up and worth seeing side by side before you commit.

What the work includes

Every vinyl siding replacement quote we write covers the following as standard, not as an upsell.

  • Full removal of old siding and inspection of the sheathing beneath
  • New house wrap with taped seams, not siding over old paper
  • Window and door flashing rebuilt so water sheds outward
  • Insulated backing where the wall assembly benefits from it
  • Panels hung to allow thermal movement, never pinned tight
  • Matching soffit, fascia, corner posts and J-channel throughout

Why homeowners choose vinyl siding replacement

  • Nothing to repaint, ever

The color runs through the panel rather than sitting on it. There is no repaint cycle and no scraping, which is the main reason owners choose it.

  • Insulated panels close a real gap

Contoured foam backing fills the void behind the profile, which stiffens the panel against impact and reduces the thermal bridging through the studs.

  • The broadest color and profile range

More colors, widths and textures are made in vinyl than in any other cladding, so matching an existing elevation is usually straightforward.

Vinyl Siding questions

What homeowners ask us most about this work. If yours is not here, call and ask.

Does vinyl siding crack in cold weather?

Modern panels are formulated for cold impact, and the failures we see are usually installation rather than material. Siding nailed tight cannot move, and a panel that cannot move is the one that splits in January.

Can you side over the existing siding?

We do not recommend it. Going over the top hides whatever is happening to the sheathing and the old wrap, and it makes correct window flashing effectively impossible. The tear-off is where the value is.

How do I clean it?

A garden hose and a soft brush once a year, working bottom to top and rinsing top to bottom. Skip the pressure washer, which drives water up behind the panels and into the wall.
