South of town the ground sits near 915 feet on open upland, and those newer parcels usually give us a clean approach, room to set a crane, and space to lay steel out in order. Down on the river terrace near 750 feet, the older blocks around the 1854 plat are tighter, and delivery has to be staged in smaller loads. Either way the city wants to see the slab detail, anchor bolt layout and stamped drawings before concrete goes in. Get the anchor bolts wrong and the columns do not land, which is the one mistake nobody can shim their way out of.
