The historic district covers fourteen contributing buildings of local buff brick, most of it laid between 1865 and 1880, and those roofs are the interesting part of roofing in Jordan. What does get attention is anything touching the face: the cornice, the parapet cap, the sign band. We check with the city before we change any of that.
The roof only leaks in one corner. Do we have to replace all of it?
Not always. We take core cuts and use a moisture meter to find where the wet insulation stops. If the wet zone is contained and the rest of the membrane still has life in it, we cut out that section and weld a new one in. If the wet zone runs everywhere, patching is money spent twice.
