What Eagan Walls Look Like Under the Old Panels
Most of the siding we pull off in Eagan is original to the house. The median build year here sits around 1987, so the panels are close to forty years old, thin by current standards, and chalked flat on the south and west elevations. Behind them we find one of three things. On the earliest jobs there is felt paper instead of a modern house wrap, lapped upward in places so water runs behind it rather than over it. On others the wrap is sound but the window heads were never flashed, only caulked, and the caulk gave up a decade ago. A share of the older stock nearer Cedar Grove is clad in painted engineered wood rather than vinyl, and that calls for LP siding replacement instead, which we quote separately.
