Where a village roof actually lets go
Village buildings grew by addition. You get a back section added at a different deck height than the front, and the transition between the two is where the water goes, every time. We take those apart rather than run a sheet over the step and call it done. The other place is the parapet behind a false front: the membrane has to turn up the wall and terminate under real counterflashing, because that back side gets no sun and never dries. Kitchens here are small, but a hood over a dining room means a grease leak lands on somebody's lunch, so the fan curb gets a welded flashing and a strainer stays on the scupper. Out on the shop buildings by the lake, EPDM roofing covers plenty of them with no trouble at all.

Can you reroof my building during Gold Rush Days in Oronoco?
Not in the village itself. That third August weekend brings more than 300 antique booths into the streets, and there is nowhere to put a dumpster, a crane or a crew. We schedule village work before or after it. A building out toward Lake Zumbro is a different story and can usually go ahead.
My commercial building is tiny. Will a roofer even come out?
Yes. A small flat roof takes the same welding, the same flashing details and the same test cuts as a big one, just fewer squares of it. The setup is a larger share of a small job than of a large one, which is worth knowing before you compare quotes from town.
Does being down by the Middle Fork change how the roof is built?
Somewhat. Low ground holds humidity and shade, so the north facing parapet and the back wall flashings dry slowly and get built with that in mind. Drainage matters more too, since a low building with a plugged scupper has nowhere for the water to go but through the deck.
